Holiday Decor Ideas for the Last-Minute Shopper

Seasonal

It was Thanksgiving Day, we blinked, and here we are just a few days from Christmas.  Maybe your staple holiday decor is already sprinkled throughout the house, or maybe you haven’t started decorating yet (… it’s okay, there’s still time!)  We’ve rounded up a few festive decor ideas we’re loving, just in time for the holidays.  Let’s get to it!

The Christmas tree accessory you never knew you needed

Source: The Merrythought

Baskets are the new tree skirt, but with a cozy, modern twist!  We are super inspired by the ladies of The Merrythought, who ditched a traditional tree skirt for a basket.  We’ve all seen baskets used with oh-so-popular fiddle leaf fig trees, but are loving the way they look with a smaller sized Christmas tree, too.  Click here for a how-to on getting this look just right.

a Tablescape fit for the outdoors

Source: Burkatron

Table settings have become more natural, and we’re seeing warm wood & metal candlesticks placed among weaves of garland that feels— and often is— fresh from the tree farm.  We’re loving the elegant simplicity of this tablescape by Caroline from Burkatron. Pro tip: if you have evergreen trees outside (or a live tree inside!), snip a few branches and save money!

glowing Glass lanterns

Source: Cella Jane

The most elegant holiday decor is often the simplest, right?  Glass lanterns bring the outdoor winter wonderland feel into your home while candles add warmth and a gentle glow to your space.  Add some battery operated twinkle lights to the mix for some extra sparkle.

colorful Stockings & Holiday Figurines

Source: Garvin and Co.

Small details, when curated with intention, truly transform your home to feel like it’s ready for the holidays. We’re loving the colorful bottlebrush trees and stockings, and the textured neutral backdrop in Jessica’s home.  GOR.GEOUS.

I grew up in New Jersey and always had a dream of living in New York.  There was something about the energy of the city that drew me inOur journey started unexpectedly in 2012, when we decided to make a big move from New York to Columbus. The glamour of climbing the corporate ladder was wearing off, and we knew that renting an expensive small apartment and dealing with crowded subways everyday was not going to work forever. We wanted to start creating something for ourselves, and although we didn’t know exactly what that something was, we knew NYC wasn’t the place for it.

We decided on Columbus because Bryan grew up here, and we were intrigued by all of the development going on in the downtown area at the time. We drove through many of the neighborhoods and admired the boarded up old houses, most of which were built in the early 1900s, and started dreaming about the things we could do here.

I'm Catherine, and I'm the founder of Beginning in the Middle.
