I know I jumped the gun a few weeks ago when I posted a pumpkin smoothie recipe while it was technically still summer, but what can I say, I just couldn’t contain my excitement for this wonderful season to finally be here. This is our first fall as homeowners – and our first fall with a real front porch – so you can only imagine how ecstatic I was on the official first day of fall last weekend. The day wouldn’t have been complete without a visit to a local farm for some autumnal goodies. It may or may not have also included experimenting with some homemade pumpkin spice donuts.
For this year’s porch, we chose to stick to the basics: a bail of hay, a few gourds, a mini-scarecrow, a used bushel basket, some mums, and a pumpkin. We also borrowed an antique-looking crate from our living room, which completed the rustic/natural look we were going for. I was scared that our new blue door might not look with fall décor, but I’m digging it.
What do you think of what we’ve done so far? Have you added fall touches to your home yet?
